RENTER REQUIREMENTS POLICY

All renters and additional drivers must be 21 or older.  All renter= s must have a valid driver’s license and a major credit card or debit= card in their name. Individuals with learners’ or instructional perm= its are not eligible to rent. This is only a summary. For additional detail= s, please reference the Driver’s License Information Policy.

AGE

The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 is $25 per= day. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle = classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, Pickups and Co= mpact, Small and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers.

DEBIT CARD

At airport locations, debit cards are only accepted at the time of renta= l if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary.   The nam= e and address shown on the renter’s driver’s license must match= their current home address.  Active duty military personnel are exemp= t from address requirements. 

Other than the renter’s spouse or domestic partner, no other addit= ional drivers are allowed.

If using a debit card for any amounts owed, the available funds in the a= ccount associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those a= mounts.  Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees in= curred.

INSURANCE VERIFICATION

The Estimated Total for the rental on the Review & Reserve screen an= d/or in the email reservation confirmation will be charged to the form of p= ayment provided by Renter.  If the rental as reserved is modified, the= estimated total amount for the rental may change and would still be charge= d to the form of payment provided by Renter.

At the time of the rental, Renter will sign a rental contract (the &ldqu= o;Contract”) which applies to the rental and includes a Rental Agreem= ent Summary and the Additional Terms and Conditions. 

 

DEPOSIT AMOUNT

To account for Renter potentially incurring additional amounts owed unde= r the Contract, at the time of rental, renters without a ticketed return tr= avel itinerary will be required to provide a deposit of $400, or $850 for t= he following vehicles classes: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury SUV, Ele= ctric Luxury SUV, Full Size Elite Electric Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Seda= n, Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Pre= mium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette.   <= /p>

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a = ticketed return travel itinerary.

Renter must use an above listed form of payment for the deposit amount.&= nbsp; The deposit amount will not be available for use by Renter and/or ref= unded to Renter until after the vehicle has been returned.

If Renter incurs additional amounts owed under the Contract, those addit= ional amounts may be deducted from Renter’s deposit amount, if applic= able.  If those additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit a= mount, if applicable, they will be charged to the form of payment provided = by Renter at the time of rental unless Renter provides a different above li= sted form of payment to be charged.

If using a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds = in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by= those amounts.  Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft= fees incurred.

Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at th= e time of rental, including for the deposit amount, but may be used to pay = any amounts due at the end of the rental after the vehicle has been returne= d.  Cash is not accepted.

In addition to one of the above listed forms of payment, credit cards wi= th sufficient available credit which are listed on Renter's Profile or = Loyalty Account (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) will be accepted as payment fo= r all amounts owed under the Contract.

All amounts owed by Renter under the Contract will be submitted (a) as a= n authorization to be a hold against and ultimately charged to Renter&rsquo= ;s credit card or debit card, or (b) to be charged to Renter’s debit = card.

*Driver's License Information*

Customers who reside in the Unite= d States, U.S. Territories, or Canada

Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Te= rritories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driv= er’s license which includes a photograph of the customer.  Digit= al licenses are not accepted.  The driver's license must be valid = for the entire rental period.

Members of the United States Armed Forces= who are on active duty may present an expired home state license under the= following conditions:

  • They also present an Active Military ID,= and

  • They are in compliance with their milita= ry extension policy of the state which issued the license.  These poli= cies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropria= te department of motor vehicles for more information.

Customers renting in Florida and presenti= ng a Connecticut or Delaware license: As of July 1, 2023, certain, but not = all, licenses issued by the foregoing states are considered invalid under F= lorida law and will not be accepted.  Please check with the Florida De= partment of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to determine if your license = is valid under Florida law.  As of August 14, 2023, information regard= ing license validity was able to be located at the following webpage on the= Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website - https://= www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/visiting-florida-faqs/

Customers travelling to the U.S. = and Canada from other countries

It is important that customers check with= the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in= which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licens= ing laws. Digital licenses are not accepted. The following practices a= re used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at th= e time of rental. 

Customers traveling to the United States = and Canada from another country must present the following:

  • Their home country driver’s licens= e that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and

  • If the home country license is in a lang= uage other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters = are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Driver’s Pe= rmit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition= to the home country license.  

  • If the home country license is in a lang= uage other than English and the letters are not English (i.e.alphabet = is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russi= an, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is requi= red. 

  • If an International Driver’s permi= t cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-writte= n translation may be substituted.  In either case the home country lic= ense must also be presented.

  • Customers may not rent a vehicle solely = with the International Driver’s Permit.  The International Drive= r’s Permit is a translation of the individual’s home country li= cense and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identifica= tion.

  • In some US and Canadian locations, custo= mers not holding a US/Canadian driver’s license may be asked to provi= de additional, valid government-issued documentation.  Examples of thi= s may include a valid passport.

  • Customers with a driver's license fr= om Mexico may be required to present a valid voter registration card from M= exico. In addition, inbound and outbound travel documentation may be requir= ed.

  • Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses a= re not accepted

  • “Learner’s Permits” ar= e not accepted.

  • Any license which, on its face, restrict= s the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form o= f a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.

  • All renters and additional drivers must = have liability insurance that transfers to a large passenger van.

  • For a commercial auto policy the renter/= driver must have minimum liability coverage of $1,000,000 that transfers to= a large passenger van.

*Additional Driver*

Renter’s spouse or domestic partner= who meet the same age and driver’s license requirements of the rente= r are authorized drivers at no additional charge.  Any additional auth= orized drivers must appear at time of rental and meet age and driver’= s license requirements.  An additional charge of $15 per day for each = additional authorized driver will be added to the cost of the rental, unles= s other contractual conditions apply. 


A spouse or domestic partner is the only per= mitted additional driver on a rental secured with a debit card.

*Cross Border Policy*

Rentals originating in the United States:= Most vehicles rented in the US can be driven throughout the US and Canada.= Some vehicle classes like Exotics, Large Passenger or Cargo Vans, and othe= r specialty vehicles may not be allowed to travel outside of the US. Vehicl= es rented in the US cannot be driven into Mexico. 

*Damage Waiver*

Damage Waiver (DW) for this branch= ranges between $29.99 and $49.99 per day depending on the type of vehicle = rented. DW is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily ch= arge. If the renter accepts DW, Enterprise waives or reduces the renter&rsq= uo;s responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the rental vehicle including= but not limited to towing, storage, loss of use, administrative fees and-o= r diminishment of value subject to the terms and conditions of the rental a= greement and applicable laws. DW is not insurance. The purchase of&nbs= p;DW is optional and not required to rent a car. The protection provided by=  DW may duplicate the renters existing coverage. Enterprise is not qua= lified to evaluate the adequacy of the renters existing coverage therefore = the renter should examine his or her credit card protections, automobile in= surance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the protec= tion provided by DW.

*Extended Protection*

For retail rentals only secured with Exte= nded Protection within the cost of the rental (excluding any liability prot= ection or insurance coverage provided under a commercial contract), the fol= lowing shall apply:

Extended Protection (EP) (Where available= ): Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection i= n an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable= to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third= party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limit= s of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single li= mit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to = others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner rental vehicle by R= enter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. Option 1 - Prepay Fuel

This option allows the renter to pay for the fuel at the time of rental and= return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.

*Roadside Protection*

Renter may purchase Roadside Assistance P= rotection (RAP) from Owner for an additional fee. If Renter purchases RAP, = Owner agrees, subject to the actions that invalidate Damage Waiver, to cont= ractually waive Renter’s responsibility for the cost to provide 24/7 = roadside assistance (where available) which includes replacement of lost ke= ys (including remote entry devices), flat tire service (if no inflated spar= e is available, the vehicle will be towed. RENTER REQUIREMENTS AND FORMS OF PAYMENT POLICIES=

RENTER REQUIREMENTS POLICY

All renters and additional drivers must be 21 or older.  All renter= s must have a valid driver’s license and a major credit card or debit= card in their name. Individuals with learners’ or instructional perm= its are not eligible to rent. This is only a summary. For additional detail= s, please reference the Driver’s License Information Policy.

AGE

The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 is $25 per= day. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle = classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, Pickups and Co= mpact, Small and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers.

DEBIT CARD

At airport locations, debit cards are only accepted at the time of renta= l if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary.   The nam= e and address shown on the renter’s driver’s license must match= their current home address.  Active duty military personnel are exemp= t from address requirements. 

Other than the renter’s spouse or domestic partner, no other addit= ional drivers are allowed.

If using a debit card for any amounts owed, the available funds in the a= ccount associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those a= mounts.  Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees in= curred.

INSURANCE VERIFICATION

The Estimated Total for the rental on the Review & Reserve screen an= d/or in the email reservation confirmation will be charged to the form of p= ayment provided by Renter.  If the rental as reserved is modified, the= estimated total amount for the rental may change and would still be charge= d to the form of payment provided by Renter.

At the time of the rental, Renter will sign a rental contract (the &ldqu= o;Contract”) which applies to the rental and includes a Rental Agreem= ent Summary and the Additional Terms and Conditions. 

 

DEPOSIT AMOUNT

To account for Renter potentially incurring additional amounts owed unde= r the Contract, at the time of rental, renters without a ticketed return tr= avel itinerary will be required to provide a deposit of $400, or $850 for t= he following vehicles classes: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury SUV, Ele= ctric Luxury SUV, Full Size Elite Electric Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Seda= n, Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Pre= mium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette.   <= /p>

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a = ticketed return travel itinerary.

Renter must use an above listed form of payment for the deposit amount.&= nbsp; The deposit amount will not be available for use by Renter and/or ref= unded to Renter until after the vehicle has been returned.

If Renter incurs additional amounts owed under the Contract, those addit= ional amounts may be deducted from Renter’s deposit amount, if applic= able.  If those additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit a= mount, if applicable, they will be charged to the form of payment provided = by Renter at the time of rental unless Renter provides a different above li= sted form of payment to be charged.

If using a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds = in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by= those amounts.  Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft= fees incurred.

Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at th= e time of rental, including for the deposit amount, but may be used to pay = any amounts due at the end of the rental after the vehicle has been returne= d.  Cash is not accepted.

In addition to one of the above listed forms of payment, credit cards wi= th sufficient available credit which are listed on Renter's Profile or = Loyalty Account (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) will be accepted as payment fo= r all amounts owed under the Contract.

All amounts owed by Renter under the Contract will be submitted (a) as a= n authorization to be a hold against and ultimately charged to Renter&rsquo= ;s credit card or debit card, or (b) to be charged to Renter’s debit = card.

Driver's License Informa= tion

Customers who reside in the United States, U.S. Territories, or C= anada

Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Te= rritories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driv= er’s license which includes a photograph of the customer.  Digit= al licenses are not accepted.  The driver's license must be valid = for the entire rental period.

Members of the United States Armed Forces= who are on active duty may present an expired home state license under the= following conditions:

  • They also present an Active Military ID,= and

  • They are in compliance with their milita= ry extension policy of the state which issued the license.  These poli= cies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropria= te department of motor vehicles for more information.

Customers renting in Florida and presenti= ng a Connecticut or Delaware license: As of July 1, 2023, certain, but not = all, licenses issued by the foregoing states are considered invalid under F= lorida law and will not be accepted.  Please check with the Florida De= partment of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to determine if your license = is valid under Florida law.  As of August 14, 2023, information regard= ing license validity was able to be located at the following webpage on the= Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website - https://= www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/visiting-florida-faqs/

Customers travelling to the U.S. = and Canada from other countries

It is important that customers check with= the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in= which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licens= ing laws. Digital licenses are not accepted. The following practices a= re used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at th= e time of rental. 

Customers traveling to the United States = and Canada from another country must present the following:

  • Their home country driver’s licens= e that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and

  • If the home country license is in a lang= uage other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters = are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Driver’s Pe= rmit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition= to the home country license.  

  • If the home country license is in a lang= uage other than English and the letters are not English (i.e.alphabet = is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russi= an, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is requi= red. 

  • If an International Driver’s permi= t cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-writte= n translation may be substituted.  In either case the home country lic= ense must also be presented.

  • Customers may not rent a vehicle solely = with the International Driver’s Permit.  The International Drive= r’s Permit is a translation of the individual’s home country li= cense and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identifica= tion.

  • In some US and Canadian locations, custo= mers not holding a US/Canadian driver’s license may be asked to provi= de additional, valid government-issued documentation.  Examples of thi= s may include a valid passport.

  • Customers with a driver's license fr= om Mexico may be required to present a valid voter registration card from M= exico. In addition, inbound and outbound travel documentation may be requir= ed.

Other requirements

  • Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses a= re not accepted

  • “Learner’s Permits” ar= e not accepted.

  • Any license which, on its face, restrict= s the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form o= f a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.

Renters of these vehicles must be 25 year= s of age or older. If the primary driver of this vehicle is 25 years of age= or older, they must accept the terms and conditions below. The following t= erms apply to the rental of this type of vehicle, in addition to those set = forth in the Rental Agreement. Please read before booking your rental.

  • The van will not be operated or used in = Canada.

  • The van does not meet Federal Bus Safety= Standards and will not be used to transport children in the twelfth (12th)= grade or younger, other than family members, for school related functions.=

  • That if the van is to be used for transp= orting passengers for hire or profit, or by any nonprofit organization or g= roup, all drivers of the van shall possess a valid class B license with a p= assenger transport endorsement.

  • That if the van is used by any public or= private school or school district (including any California community or s= tate college), as governed by Section 39800.5 of the Education Code or Sect= ion 10326.1 of the Public Contract Code, all drivers of the van shall posse= ss a valid class B license with a passenger transport endorsement.

  • All renters and additional drivers must = have verifiable collision, comprehensive and liability insurance.

  • All renters and additional drivers must = have liability insurance that transfers to a large passenger van.

  • For a commercial auto policy the renter/= driver must have minimum liability coverage of $1,000,000 that transfers to= a large passenger van.


Additional Driver

Renter’s spouse or domestic partner who meet the same age and drive= r’s license requirements of the renter are authorized drivers at no a= dditional charge.  Any additional authorized drivers must appear at ti= me of rental and meet age and driver’s license requirements.  An= additional charge of $15 per day for each additional authorized driver wil= l be added to the cost of the rental, unless other contractual conditions a= pply. 


A spouse or domestic partner is the only per= mitted additional driver on a rental secured with a debit card.


After Hours Service

Please follow rental return signs and return vehicle to the designated En= terprise return lanes located on Terminal A and B sides.  An agent wil= l be present and will process your return.

Cross Border Policy

Rentals originating in the United States: Most vehicles rented in the US = can be driven throughout the US and Canada. Some vehicle classes like Exoti= cs, Large Passenger or Cargo Vans, and other specialty vehicles may not be = allowed to travel outside of the US. Vehicles rented in the US cannot be dr= iven into Mexico. 


Damage Waiver

Damage Waiver (DW) for this branch ranges between $29.99 and $49.9= 9 per day depending on the type of vehicle rented. DW is offered at th= e time of rental for an additional daily charge. If the renter accepts DW, = Enterprise waives or reduces the renter’s responsibility for loss of,= or damage to, the rental vehicle including but not limited to towing, stor= age, loss of use, administrative fees and-or diminishment of value subject = to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws.&nb= sp;DW is not insurance. The purchase of DW is optional and not require= d to rent a car. The protection provided by DW may duplicate the rente= rs existing coverage. Enterprise is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy = of the renters existing coverage therefore the renter should examine his or= her credit card protections, automobile insurance policies or other source= s of coverage that may duplicate the protection provided by DW.


Extended Protection

For retail rentals only secured with Extended Protection within the cost = of the rental (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage pro= vided under a commercial contract), the following shall apply:

Extended Protection (EP) (Where available= ): Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection i= n an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable= to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third= party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limit= s of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single li= mit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to = others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner rental vehicle by R= enter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP incl= udes UM/UIM coverage for bodily injury and property damage (only where requ= ired by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financia= l responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection),= and additional coverage, through an excess liability policy, with limits f= or the difference between the statutory minimum underlying limits and $100,= 000 per accident (for rentals commencing in New York, UM/UIM limits are $10= 0,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for rentals commencing in Hawaii, t= he UM/UIM limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or state mandated UM= /UIM limit, whichever is greater. Personal Effects Coverage=

Personal Effects Coverage (PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an a= dditional daily charge. If accepted, the PEC contained in the policy insure= s the personal effects of the renter, additional drivers or any individual = who is traveling with the renter against risks of loss or damage. Benefits = are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage the renter or passe= ngers may have. This is a summary only. PEC is subject to the provisions, l= imitations and exclusions of the PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and= Marine Insurance Company in the United States. The purchase of PEC is opti= onal and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by PEC may dupli= cate the renter's existing coverage. Enterprise is not qualified to eva= luate the adequacy of the renter's existing coverage; therefore, the re= nter should examine their personal insurance policies or other sources of c= overage that may duplicate the coverage provided by PEC. Based on the locat= ion state where the vehicle is rented, the fee for PEC ranges from $5.99 to= $8.19 per day; vehicles with seating capacity for 10 people or more will h= ave a range of $7.99 to $15.67per day.


Refueling Service

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel= .
 
Option 1 - Prepay Fuel

This option allows the renter to pay for the fuel at the time of rental and= return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.

Option 2 - We Refill

This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used= but not replaced. Prices will be higher than local fuel prices. Addit= ional charges may be added.

Option 3 - You Refill

This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with the same amount of= fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.


Roadside Protection

Renter may purchase Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) from Owner for a= n additional fee. If Renter purchases RAP, Owner agrees, subject to the act= ions that invalidate Damage Waiver, to contractually waive Renter’s r= esponsibility for the cost to provide 24/7 roadside assistance (where avail= able) which includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devic= es), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will= be towed. Cost of a replacement tire is not covered by RAP), lockout servi= ce (if the keys are locked inside the vehicle), jumpstarts, and fuel delive= ry service for up to 3 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel if Vehicle is= out of fuel. Roadside Assistance Protection services are only available in= the United States and Canada. If Renter does not purchase RAP, or RAP is i= nvalidated as set forth above, roadside assistance will be available, but s= tandard charges will apply. RAP does not apply in Mexico. For roadside assi= stance call 1-800-307-6666. In CA, KS, MO, NV and NY, keys are not covered = by RAP.

 


Supplemental Liability Protec= tion

Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) for this= branch is $16.09 per day- Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is offer= ed at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, SLP p= rovides the renter and authorized drivers with up to $300,000 combined sing= le limit for third party liability claims. If the renter accepts SLP, Enter= prise provides third party liability protection up to the applicable minimu= m financial responsibility limit and Zurich American Insurance Company prov= ides excess third party liability insurance coverage from the applicable mi= nimum financial responsibility limit to $300,000. This is a summary only. S= LP is subject to the terms, conditions, provisions, limitations and exclusi= ons in the supplemental rental liability insurance excess policy underwritt= en by Zurich American Insurance Company. The purchase of SLP is optional an= d not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLP may duplicate th= e renters existing coverage.
